(Part 2 of 2)
There are 4 main reasons why a product may come to the end of its life cycle in both the brick and mortar world and online.
As mentioned above, the product has become obsolete, especially if electronics, computer, or mobile phone related.
The manufacturer may stop producing the product. (Discontinued items.)
eBay doesn—t allow it anymore–_or it becomes part of a VERO restriction.
The market becomes too saturated to make a profit.
All 4 of these situations happen on a regular basis, so sellers should keep these possibilities in mind when choosing a product to sell, especially if buying in bulk or quantity directly from a supplier. Use caution when buying in large quantities, because the eBay marketplace is a moving target. Remember, nothing lasts forever, and the —perfect— product for eBay does not exist. Successful sellers learn to adapt to the changing marketplace, trends and consumer needs.
