Advice for the Entrepreneur: Lee’s Tip #76

18 Mar 2014 Uncategorized

I recently had to unsubscribe from the newsletters of a couple of people who were sending me emails with unscrupulous come-ons in the subject line. Things like, “Oh, I forgot to tell you” or “Lee…you forgot to tell me” or — the worst one — “I need your help…emergency!” These types of subject lines are an obvious ploy to get me to open the email and have nothing to do with the content of the email itself. People by and large are not stupid. If your content is good, you don’t have to use misleading subject lines. Take the high road. You want to make it easy for folks to find your subject in their in-box.
