To make sure people receive their holiday packages on time, USPS has extended delivery services to 7 days a week in major cities and other high-volume areas. Now through Christmas Day, deliveries are being made every single day. Sellers can find out which zip codes are receiving 7-day delivery at http://www.usps.com/holidaynews.
USPS predicts a 12% growth in package volume during the holiday season–_somewhere in the range of 450-470 million packages. They attribute this to ecommerce growth, because more customers are ordering online, as well as to improvements to their Priority Mail offerings, including lower prices.
And here’s a really impressive statistic: One out of every 2 USPS packages contains an eBay purchase!
